The Story Behind Pecos Bill...

Pecos Bill was a cartoon character featured in the 1948 Disney cartoon film "Melody Time" which was based  on the 1917 publication of a book entitled "The Saga of Pecos Bill". Pecos Bill was also a character played by Wally Boag in his original Golden Horseshoe Revue. This character along with other historic and [sometimes imaginary] characters created the cast of the 1981 Disneyland Summer nighttime show, Pecos Bill's Wild West Revue.

The Pecos Bill Wild West Revue:

Pecos Bill's Wild West Revue featured classic characters from the American West and enjoyable songs from classic American shows. This 30 minute show opens with the folk song "Raise a Ruckus Tonight" from the movie "How the West Was Won", they set a tone that is followed by "Anything You Can Do" [from Annie Get Your Gun] to the guys singing "Don't Fence Me In" [from the movie Hollywood Canteen]. Next the girls perform "Belly Up to the Bar, Boys" [from the movie, The Unsinkable Molly Brown].

During the song the girls proceed to flirt with the men in the audience and lap on their laps. Buffalo Bill never misses a chance to try and sell his MIRACLE ELIXAR. The audience had been set up to "boo" him every time he tries. Next comes Annie Oakley's big number "Indian Love Call" [from the 1936 movie, "Rose Marie"], but this too is ruined by everyone and Calamity Jane steps up to save the day with a show stopping tap routine to Irving Berlin's song "There's No Business like Show Business''.

Castmembers Included:
