Disneyland officially opens Sunday, July 17, 1955 with five new lands open including: Main Street USA with 6 new attractions, Tomorrowland with 7 new attractions, Fantasyland with 10 new attractions, Frontierland with 8 new attractions and Adventureland with 1 new attraction. "A" thru "C" tickets are sold starting on Tuesday, October 11, 1955. They can be purchased separately from general admission tickets. Originally, the tickets are sold in a single strip with tear away stubs for "A" thru "C" attractions. "A" tickets are worth 10 cents each, "B" tickets are worth 25 cents each and "C" tickets are worth 40 cents each.

"E" tickets are introduced with a 75 cent value. The Disneyland Re-dedication Celebration Parade on June 14, 1959 to celebrate the park re-dedication. The highlight of the parade was Disney band leader, Tommy Walker leading a band playing “76 Trombones” and handing the baton to Meredith Wilson (who wrote the song). The park was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the off season. The Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Monorail and the Submarine Voyage open. Soviet Premier, Nikita Khrushchev is denied entrance in Disneyland, due to security reasons. Senator John F. Kennedy visits Disneyland with President Ahmed Sekou Toure of Guinea. Vice President Richard Nixon visits Disneyland.

Disney Max Pass is introduced. Preferred parking is now offered in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. Starting in July of 2017, Disneyland no longer uses hand stamps for park re-entry, but takes digital photos of every guest for download unto their pass. A new and revamped Fantasmic reopens at Disneyland, Edelweiss Snacks becomes the Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland; Matterhorn Mountain become Fastpass attraction. The Paint the Night Parade closes and the Main Street Electrical Parade returns. Fantasy in the Sky fireworks ends and is replaced by Remember the Dreams Come True Fireworks. As the “New Land” continues to be built, the Rivers of America are reopened and Fantasmic, The Mark Twain Steamboat, and the Columbia Sailing Ship return to service, as well as the Disneyland Railroad. Disneyland begins selling tickets based on the how busy the day will be. Three kinds of one day tickets are sold: Value Day Tickets, Peak Day Tickets and Regular Day Tickets. Disneyland premieres the mobile phone app for ordering food in the park. Disneyland After Dark – Disneyland will host its very first Disneyland After Dark Event on January 18, 2018. The Pizza Port in Tomorrowland becomes the Alien Pizza Planet. The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland opens serving snacks and various Dole Whip flavors. The Jedi Training Academy in Tomorrowland closes. The last Mickey’s Halloween Party is hosted at Disneyland.

Disney announces the new FLEX PASS Annual Passport. All versions of tickets listed include unlimited use of all attractions. Disneyland opens a new land: Star Wars Galaxy's Edge on 14 acres north of Critter Country on May 31, 2019. A new 6,800 space Parking structure is added to Disneyland's west side. Pixar Play Parade is at Disneyland. Disney opens a new parking structure, the Pixar Pals Parking structure just south of the current Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. This adds 5,000 more parking spaces to the resort. The Mickey’s Mix Magic Light Show on Main Street opens and closes within the year. Mickey’s Soundsational Parade returns briefly and is replaced by the Mickey and Friends Band-tastic Parade. The Main Street Electrical Parade returns for 2 months. A 6.4 earthquake causes the temporary shutdown of all attractions at Disneyland on the 4th of July.
